5 Plaid Street Style Looks to Copy

The Plaid Coat

We have had a pretty mild winter in my sweet southern home, but as January nears the weather is getting colder and I have found myself finally needing a real winter coat. The plaid coat is one of the cutest and (easiest) styles I have seen this season. The best part about the sudden popularity of the plaid coat is that it can now be found in a variety of silhouettes, making it perfect for every body type!

Here are some of my favorites:

Save: Nasty Gal (70% Off Sale!)

Smart Buy: ModCloth (50% Off!)

Splurge: Topshop

The Babydoll Dress

Who doesn’t love a good babydoll dress? They are a classic feminine style that never seems to get old! Add some plaid, a cute peter-pan collar and some tights and you have the perfect winter dress!

Check out these affordable styles:

Maude ($45)

Forever 21 ($23)

ASOS ($51)

The Tailored Plaid Pant

Straight from the 1960s, the plaid trouser is a more flattering alternative to plaid leggings. Tucked in with a turtleneck (as styled by my blogger crush on the left) or styled with an graphic sweater, these pants are to die for!

Styles I love:

Save: ModCloth (50% Off!)

Smart Buy: Gap ($48)

Splurge: Piperlime ($190)

Just For Fun: These Nasty Gal pants may not be tailored but they are just great!

The Wool Skirt

Ever since the 90s I have been obsessed with the plaid skirt, in fact many a childhood picture features the fashion staple. Although my taste is now a little more Gossip Girl and a little less Britney Spears, I’m still crushing on this seasons Wool and Plaid trend.

Three different styles to try:

The Flare Mini: Ruche ($49)

Above the Knee: Lauren by Ralph Lauren ($112)

The Classic Pencil: Madewell ($98)

Just for fun:

Rumor has it my girl T-Swift and I are rocking the same Banana Republic Plaid Fit and Flare skirt this winter. It is currently sold out online but can still be purchased in select stores!
